Flapper girl

My family and I always go to this event at the Paramound Theatre called Silent Movie Mondays. Considering I had just found a 1920s dress the day before, I couldn't resist a chance to wear it to this week's showing of the Charlie Chaplin film, "The Circus." It was the most crowded and enthusiastic Silent Movie Monday I've ever been to. I found the movie's ending to be sad because (spoiler alert!) the Tramp doesn't get the girl. We arrived early and ended up sitting towards the back.

Pre-show I persuaded my mother to take my picture using the theatre as a backdrop. I look pretty uncomfortable because people kept walking by as my picture was being taken. A passerby told me she liked my dress, which made my discomfort almost worth it. I'm positive that this dress is the best thing I own. Owning a twenties dress has been a dream of mine since I was twelve years old (when I first discovered vintage clothing).

After the movie we went for a walk through Capitol Hill and I photographed some of my favorite old buildings.
